What’s Coming for Women’s Barbell Club in 2026
An update.
Hi friends,
It’s been a hot second since I published here and a lot has happened in the meantime. I graduated from PT, made major progress on my return-to-running program, started to feel like I had my legs back, and — the second Saturday of the year — turned my other ankle. I’ll spare you the details, but it was looking really bright there for a second. The plan is to properly rehab this one so I don’t end up with chronic instability and injury like I had with the other one.
(New here and have no idea what I’m talking about? Read all about it in the Injury Diaries, my series from last year that tracked my recovery journey after a much-needed ankle surgery. Not that interested? No worries. I’m bored by it too.)
I took some time at the end of the year to look back on what I’d written in 2025. While writing about my personal surgery recovery journey led to a more frequent publishing schedule, I found that I wasn’t too enthusiastic about those pieces. In general, I’m not really interested in writing about myself. I’d rather write about something that I start off knowing nothing about.
So that’s the plan for 2026: more reported stories and less (maybe no) personal writing.
I have a few pieces in the works: on well-known strength athletes, training, and trends I’m seeing in the fitness space. The first one’s coming to you in February, and I’m planning a monthly cadence from then on.
(Have an idea for me? My inbox is open. Reply to this email or drop a comment below.)
In the meantime, check out my story about Girls on the Run in honor of the organization’s 30th anniversary in Issue 002 of RunHer Mag.
More soon.
